Our Life Groups are small communities where people meet regularly for fellowship, Bible study, and prayer.
Pastoral Care is central to our life together. We offer visits, phone check-ins, and spiritual support, ensuring no one feels alone.
Join a Team. From tech and worship to children’s ministry and care home visits—there’s a place to serve.
We also walk with people through significant life events, such as baptisms, weddings, and funerals, offering prayerful support.

Children & Family Ministry
Our parish offers a vibrant and diverse range of activities for children and families, helping to nurture faith in creative, engaging, and accessible ways. Below are the key ministries and services designed with young people and their families in mind.
JAM
Second Sunday of each month at St Paul’s
JAM is a one-hour, child-friendly interactive service that brings families together to explore faith through crafts, stories, and song. While children enjoy interactive activities, families can also enjoy a breakfast snack and an opportunity to reflect and grow together in faith.
Messy Church
Third Sunday of each month at St Mary’s
Messy Church is a lively and interactive service where children and families learn about God’s word through hands-on activities like crafts, painting, and puzzles. Each session includes worship through singing, followed by refreshments and fellowship time with other families. It’s an inclusive and joyful space to grow in faith together.
Little Roots Toddler Group
Our thriving toddler group, Little Roots, meets every Tuesday and Wednesday during term time, from 9–11am at St Paul’s. It provides a warm, welcoming space for pre-school children to explore, play, and grow through a wide range of activities, crafts, song, and story time.
Little Roots is not just for the children – it’s a valued place of community and support for parents, grandparents, and carers, who can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee whilst connecting with others in a relaxed and friendly environment. It’s a space where friendships are formed, encouragement is shared, and the roots of community are nurtured from the earliest years.
Small Groups
Small groups are very important to the life of the church, bringing fellowship, prayerful support and discipleship.
They run both during the day and in the evenings depending upon the needs of members and are mostly led by members of the congregation. They are so valued that some members who have moved away sometimes continue to join online.
The number of groups has varied. There are currently three groups meeting regularly. Some groups have grown from Alpha or Christianity Explored courses where those attending them have wanted to continued meeting together. Some also regularly eat together, strengthening their relationships.
Prayer
Prayer is a vital part of parish life, which we are continuing to develop.
Intercessions on Sundays include regular prayers for our mission partners as well as other local, national and global needs. An online group meets on Mondays to pray for the sick and needy but also for the parish and for the world. All are invited to a monthly prayer meeting on a Tuesday, which includes worship, reflection and intercession. Other occasional meetings are held, such as a Day of Prayer on a Saturday or a Season of Prayer on certain weekday mornings.
Join a Team
We believe that using our gifts and abilities for serving one another within the church family is an important aspect of our discipleship.
It engenders a sense of belonging and helps us to grow as a community. It can also form a key part of our ministry to reach out to those living in the local area. Both aspects of church life provide an opportunity to use the gifts God has given us to support others and share His love, each of us playing our part in the body of Christ. Tech/Media Team
If you are interested in tech and media there is an opportunity to be involved in helping our services run smoothly by operating a sound system or the laptop. No experience is necessary and training will be given.
Worship Team
It would be lovely to increase the number of singers and musicians to help us with our sung worship. If you have experience in either of these areas we would be delighted to hear from you.
Children’s Work
The opportunities for working with children vary from being part of the Messy Church, JAM or Trailblazers (Sunday mornings) teams to helping with the craft mornings or Little Roots toddler group.
Welcome Team
Greeting people with a smile and making them feel welcome is an important role as people enter church for our services. Just come along a little earlier than usual and place yourself near the door!
Care Home Visiting
We visit two residential homes in the parish to chat to those who live there and take a communion service for them. If you’re available during the day and enjoy a good natter this maybe something for you.

Baptism (Christening)
Welcoming into the Family of God
Baptism is a sign of new life and a beautiful beginning of a journey with Jesus. In the Church of England, we welcome babies, children, and adults to be baptised as a mark of God’s love and your place in the family of the Church. You don’t need to have been a regular churchgoer to arrange a baptism—we are always delighted to talk with you and explore what this step means.

Weddings
A Joyful Celebration of Love and Commitment
A church wedding is a beautiful and sacred way to begin your married life. We offer a deeply spiritual setting for your vows, with music, prayer, and the presence of God at the heart of the celebration. Whether you’re exploring the idea or already planning your day, we’re here to support you—spiritually and practically—every step of the way.
Considering a Church Wedding? You don’t have to be a regular churchgoer to get married here, and there are many options available. We’d love to meet you, hear your story, and talk about how we can help you prepare for a lifelong journey together.
Funerals
Commemorating Life with Hope in the Resurrection
A funeral in church is a sacred time to give thanks for a loved one’s life, to commend them into God’s care, and to bring comfort to family and friends. Whether the death was expected or sudden, our clergy are here to offer compassionate support, help plan a meaningful service, and walk with you through your grief.
You don’t need to be a church member to have a Church of England funeral. Whether held in church, at a crematorium, or graveside, we are here to listen, support, and pray with you.
PASTORAL CARE
What is Pastoral Care?
Pastoral Care is a vital expression of Christian love and community. At our church, it is woven into everything we do and reflects our commitment to creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment where everyone feels valued—regardless of age or circumstance.
Our Pastoral Care Team, led by Karen Davies, consists of trained and DBS-approved volunteers operating under our Safer Recruitment policy. Their mission is to ensure that no one feels isolated, especially during times of need or personal difficulty.
